Gradient Border
Requirements: Paint Shop Pro 5, 6 or 7

1 Make a 100 x 100, 16 million color document. I used a black background on this example. Set Foreground color to White.
(Example of Foreground color set to White and Background color set to Black)

2 Click on the "Selection" tool and draw a circle using the following settings:
Selection Type = Circle
Feather = 0
Anti-alias = checked

3 Fill the area of the circle using the "Flood-fill" tool .
Fill Style = Sunburst Gradient
Match Mode = None
Tolerance = 100
Opacity = 100
Sample Merge = NOT checked
Click on "Options" and apply these settings:
Blend Mode = Normal
Vertical = 30
Horizontal = 30
NOTE for PSP6 Users: Under the "Flood Fill Options" tab, make sure that Gradient is set to "Foreground-Background"

4 Click on Selections>Modify>Contract
Number of Pixels = 5

5 Again, fill the area of the circle again using the "Flood-fill" tool .
Fill Style = Sunburst Gradient
Match Mode = None
Tolerance = 100
Opacity = 100
Sample Merge = NOT checked
Click on "Options" and apply these settings:
Blend Mode = Normal
Vertical = 70
Horizontal = 70
NOTE for PSP6 Users: Under the "Flood Fill Options" tab, make sure that Gradient is set to "Foreground-Background"

6 Click on Selections>Modify>Contract
Number of Pixels = 3

7 Open an existing photo |

8 Go back to your original image and fill the area of the new circle using the "Flood-fill" tool .
Fill Style = Pattern
Match Mode = None
Tolerance = 100
Opacity = 100
Sample Merge = NOT checked
Click on "Options" and apply these settings:
Fill Style = Pattern
Blend Mode = Normal
Pattern = "Your photo image"

9 And finally, click on Image>Effect>Cutout
Settings I used:
Fill Interior with color = NOT checked
Shadow Color = Black
Opacity = 80
Blur = 8
Vertical Offset = 5
Horizontal Offset = 5
Click Ok. Save your image. |
