Peeling Cement
Requirements: Paint Shop Pro  6, 7

1 Start by making a 200x200 pixels, 16 million colors and dark gray background image.

2 Add a new layer (Layers>New Raster Layer)

Paint your image with "Clouds" tube (Scale = 100)

3 Apply Mosaic Glass Filter 
PSP6: Image>Effects>Mosaic Glass
PSP7: Effects>Texture Effects>Mosaic Glass

4 Pick the Selection Tool and press [CTRL+A] then click your mouse once anywhere on your image.  This will make the active object on your image as the new selection.  Save this selection to alpha channel (Selections>Save to Alpha Channel).
5 Deselect selection by pressing [CTRL+D].  Delete current layer (Layers>Delete) and this will leave you the background layer.

Now, load the saved selection (Selections>Load from Alpha Channel)

Apply Inner Bevel Filter
PSP6: Image>Effects>Inner Bevel
PSP7: Effects>3D Effects>Inner Bevel

(Sharpen your image (Image>Sharpen) after applying the Inner bevel)
