Neon Button



Tutorial is written for Paint Shop Pro 6. The methods used are compatible with Paint Shop Pro 7, 8, 9 and 10.

1 Make a new 150x50 White Background, 16 Million colors image.   Set foreground color to Black and background color to White.

 

2 Apply a Linear Gradient Fill using the settings below:

Linear Gradient Settings:
Fill Style = Linear Gradient
Blend Mode = Normal
Paper Texture and Match Mode = None

Under the Flood Fill Options Tab
Gradient = Metallic
Angle = 180
Repeats = 0

 

3 Press [CTRL+A] to select all the contract selection by 7 (Selections>Modify>Contract).  Save selection to alpha channel (Selections>Save to Alpha Channel)

Apply cutout filter (Image>Effects>Cutout) twice using the settings below:

1st Cutout 2nd Cutout
Fill Interior Color = Not checked
Shadow Color = Black
Opacity = 100
Blur = 0
Horizontal Offset = 1
Vertical Offset = 1
Fill Interior Color = Not checked
Shadow Color = White
Opacity = 100
Blur = 0
Horizontal Offset = -1
Vertical Offset = -1

 

4 Apply colorize filter on your current selection (Colors>Colorize) 

Settings I Used:
Hue = 30   Saturation = 255

Add new adjustment layer (Layers>New Adjustment Layer>Curves) and use the same settings below.
