Engraved Button



Tutorial is written for Paint Shop Pro 6. The methods used are compatible with Paint Shop Pro 7, 8, 9 and 10.

1 Make a new 150x50 White Background, 16 Million colors image.   Set foreground color to white and background color to black.

 

 

2 Apply a Linear Gradient Fill using the settings below:

Linear Gradient Settings:
Fill Style = Linear Gradient
Blend Mode = Normal
Paper Texture and Match Mode = None

Under the Flood Fill Options Tab
Gradient = Metallic
Angle = 180
Repeats = 0

Darken the image by adjusting the gamma correction (Colors>Adjust>Gamma Correction)  RGB = .56

 

 

3 Add a new layer (Layers>New Raster Layer).  While holding down the [Shift] draw a white straight line using the settings below.

 

 

4 Pick the selection tool then press [CTRL+A] (you will noticed the whole image became your active selection).  Now click your mouse once anywhere on your image to highlight all active object at the current layer.

Save the current selection to alpha channel (Selections>Save to Alpha Channel) and name it Button
